Enjoy a free shooting range, laser shooting gallery, s’mores and more at Bass Pro Shops Saturday and Sunday, noon to 6 p.m. Dad can (safely) re-enact his favorite scene from The Terminator.
Trails and such
Pack a PB&J picnic and head to Devil’s Icebox Cave at Rock Bridge Memorial State Park for a chilling experience. Or get your wheels spinning with a bike ride along the Katy Trail. Just make sure to check for helmet hair before you leave.
Outdoors and out of town
“Kamp” alongside the Missouri River at Katfish Katy in Huntsdale, about 12 miles from downtown Columbia. Campsites are only $15 per night, but don’t get too crazy — quiet time starts at 10 p.m.
Indie: the new Hollywood
