The Avett Brothers — Seth and Scott Avett and Bob Crawford — will close out this year’s Summerfest series Sept. 17.
September 11, 2008 | 12:00 a.m. CST
The Avett Brothers have captured the hearts of many through their impressive live performances and critically acclaimed folk songs. Based in North Carolina, Scott and Seth Avett and Bob Crawford have a musical style all their own, blending rock, folk, blues and bluegrass. The group translates that sound into a high-energy live show that draws thousands in the Carolinas. Earlier this year, the band signed with American Recordings, an imprint of Columbia Records run by legendary producer Rick Rubin. The Avetts are in the process of completing their debut for the label with Rubin, and this Summerfest send-off is an experience you can not afford to miss.
