The Good
HELLO CHINA: Hello Kitty was promoted from decorating plastic purses to being a tourism ambassador for Japan. The country is targeting tourists from China, where the little white cat is so popular that a multi-million dollar Hello Kitty musical opened in Beijing. We wonder if she will get international ambassador pointers from Mickey Mouse.
The Bad
DESSERT DEFERRED: British authorities have canceled Britain’s largest custard pie fight after its Facebook group ballooned to more than 1,200 participants. Police were worried they wouldn’t have enough manpower to prevent innocent bystanders from getting creamed and cited “health concerns” as the reason for the indefinite delay. It seems like a sloppy situation.
The Ugly
URINE TROUBLE! A British man used a “squeezy sports bottle” to spray a mixture of urine, feces and household products in public places. The victims included produce from two supermarkets, children’s books, a freezer of food and a wine rack. The man has been detained and is pleading not guilty to four counts of contaminating products. And the Brits thought a pie fight was cause for health concerns.
